The following picture shows relations between Datapolis products. Please note that SharePoint Column Protector PRO is a completely new product, not an update for SCP Standard. It is possible to install SCP PRO onto SCP Standard, retaining all settings, but it is not possible to reverse the operation and install SCP Standard onto SCP PRO.
The image below presents allowed SCP and Workbox combinations. SCP Standard can only be used with Workbox 1.6 or earlier.
If any Datapolis products are already installed on the environment, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with the following table. The table contains information about which products are allowed to be installed simultaneously in order to keep them functioning properly.
a) SharePoint Column Protector Standard and SharePoint Column Protector PRO are separate products. Because of SharePoint limitations they cannot be installed on one server farm simultaneously.
List column settings will be preserved when migrating from SCP Standard to SCP PRO. SCP PRO installer will hint on which site collections SCP permissions are defined, and offer to activate the product automatically. In this situation, however, downgrade to SCP Standard will not be possible.
b) Since version 1.7, Datapolis Workbox is only compatible with SCP PRO. Therefore: * b1) installing SCP Standard with Workbox 1.7 or later may cause permissions to malfunction both on list items and in Workbox actions; * b2) installing Workbox 1.6 or earlier on SCP PRO can cause permissions to malfunction;
* b3) installing Workbox 1.7 or later on SCP Standard can cause both products to malfunction.
